The Greek Replication Lab will take place in the Regional Unit of Chania under the coordination of MAICh. The area of Chania reflects the best aspects of the geomorphological richness of Crete, its climate and its unique biodiversity that ranges from its harsh and dry mountains to lush plateaus and azure coasts of the islands. For centuries, this area has been shaped by strong cultural relations between such a diversified landscape and its inhabitants. Over past decades, ever-increasing waves of touristic activity have affected this bond. Touristic development has transformed the Cretan economy and society and led to several social and environmental issues such as conflicts for land use.
