Living Labs

Living Lab – United Kingdom: Rural Scotland

The Scottish Living Lab is run by James Hutton Institute, and it involves organizations responsible for designing and implementing the collection, analysis, use and quality of data for informing development and monitoring of public policy effects. Rural areas of Scotland are at the forefront of policy responses to climate change, such as woodland expansion, restoration of peatlands and other nature-based solutions, renewable energy production, and transformations in land to new uses. Such changes have to be just and equitable, and monitored to track their social, economic and environmental impacts.
